Do I really need counseling?

Everyone goes through challenging situations in life. There's nothing wrong with seeking out extra support when you need it. Counseling is a step in self-care: taking responsibility by accepting where you're at in life and asking for help when you need extra support.

Counseling provides long-lasting benefits, giving you the tools you need to avoid triggers, re-direct self-defeating patterns, and overcome whatever challenges you face.

-
A counselor has empathy and understanding.

What's a Session Like?
Every session is unique to each client and their specific goals.
-
1st session: Typically an intake assessment. Discussion of primary issues and concerns in your life.
-
Following sessions: Establish goals and work on personal growth.
-
Sessions are usually scheduled weekly and last around 50 minutes.
-
For therapy to be most effective, clients must be active participants, both during and between the sessions.
